Task 1: Empathy Map & Problem Statement
Week 1: Project Briefing & Group Formation (25/9)
The first week of class with Ms Li Lian introduced us to the module of
Collaborative Design Practice (CDP for short) by discussing about the contents
and project goals we are taking this semester. Unlike any other modules that
we have taken before, CDP provides us the opportunity to work with students
from other departments of the campus, namely students from Business and Food
Science majors. We as the Design students, were to form a team and select one
project to collaborate on.

Introducing my design team members and their respective specializations:
- Arnusha Arnaz Khan (Group Leader) - Entertainment Design
- Nur Hana Ameera - Entertainment Design
- Wong Shu Xun, Gladys - UI/UX
- Sheryl Anusree - Immersive Design
- Sarah Li-Yen Pal - Entertainment Design
Once group formations are done, our group was assigned to collaborate on a
project called Collacto, a collagen-infused probiotic drink proposed by Team
6 of the Business school's students. Here below lies the project brief:
Collacto - A project brief by Team 6 of Business School
A day after, we arranged our first meeting with the business students to
further discuss the details of the project and better understand the
requirements, expectations, and goals of the collaboration. After viewing
their proposal video and direction of the design assets of the product helped
us to better understand the artistic vision which will be expanded on in Task
2.
Step 1: Listing survey questions for user research
Our requirements for task 1 consists of an empathy map, and that can only be
done with the help of data from respondents of our target audience. Which
means it is survey time woohoo~ (we all hate surveys)
Despite the horrors, creating an online survey instead of interviewing our target audiences will give us greater reach in this shorter timeframe we had to work with, and so our team decided to focus on creating survey questions focusing on 3 main factors: Health, Price/Purchasing Rationale, Product-Related Questions (e.g. user preference and design influence of the product).

These survey questions were created via our brainstorming session on Miro, to
which we plan to present to Ms Li Lian on the following Wednesday class for
review and feedback.
Week 2: Online Survey Creation (2/10)
Step 2: Posting and sharing online survey for data gathering
We had our survey questions reviewed by our lecturer and the feedback she
provided was overall positive with the questionnaire being thought out well.
One thing to note as collagen is our unique specialty of the product
differentiating its identity amongst competitors in the market, she suggested
to include extra questions regarding collagen as well as the user's
willingness to try collagen-infused drinks. We took her feedback and applied
it into our survey to strengthen our data coverage.
Right after class, we sent out the survey in hopes that it can gather a
sizable amount of respondents swiftly as we only had a week until our
submission of Task 1's presentation in next week's class.
To our surprise, we managed to get a decent amount of responses to our survey
the following day, which allows us to begin our data analysis and empathy map
creation. (Thank our lucky stars we did not have to wait long at all for
responses)

Step 3: Creating deliverables for Task 1's Presentation Slides
Once the survey form is closed, we divided the tasks amongst ourselves to
finish our presentation slides requirements in a timely manner. Our group
worked on user personas, empathy maps, project documents and etc. My groupmate
Gladys and I worked on analyzing the survey data, and we both included our
findings and rationale into our presentation slides.
Week 3: Task 1 Proposal Presentation (9/10)
We presented our Task 1 Presentation Slides to Ms Li Lian this week. It was
met with positive feedback on the proposal and she gave us feedback for
improvements and use with the data we gathered. The next task is to proceed
with the creation of the brand identity for Collacto, starting off with the
logo design for our client. Listed below is our deliverables for Task 1:
Collacto - Task 1 Proposal Presentation Slides
Coming into this module is strikingly similar to Minor Project after taking it in the previous semester, thus I was well-versed with the inner workings and work process of the deliverables for submission. The unique aspect of collaborating with students from other departments is interesting as it provides a unique experience compared to the rest of the groupwork modules, simulating real life work conditions in a sense.
Regarding the work we had accomplished so far, I am quite satisfied with the deliverables we had created and that is only thanks to the combined effort of all of my teammates putting in their valuable time and knowledge to complete the tasks swiftly. One thing I am glad of is the unexpected quickness of gathering a sizable respondent count for the survey to the point where we can close the survey a day after it was sent out. The good news is that most of the respondents are part of our target audience as well, all thanks to family and friends connections.

Week 2:
-Survey questions are well thought out
-Can include additional questions regarding collagen and the willingness to consume such drinks in the survey

Week 3:
-Project Document and Slides are to be separated, not included together

Personally, working with this team has been satisfactory so far as we managed to be efficient in knocking out the tasks during our respective meeting times. Each of us managed to pull through with our respective sections and we managed to upkeep our productivity this way in our limited timeframe. Kudos to my team!!
