Sketches

Fig 1.8 - Sketch #1

This is my desk, a place of familiarity to me. I spend my time working, relaxing with music, playing games, watching movies or calling friends. It has become a place of comfort and happiness, a place where I return to after a long day.

Fig 1.9 - Sketch #2

I wanted to express the serenity of fountains and nature combined. The sight of the water flowing from the fountain as well as the ducks swimming in the background gives a calming effect. Being here makes me feel at peace and be grateful for the small things in life.

Feedback for the week (Week 9)
Sketch #1: Can use vibrant colors for the 1st sketch, study workplace layouts and reference lively-looking ones

Sketch #2: Maybe have the whole lake going across the page and have an aerial view to capture the fountain nicely

Fig 2.0 - Progress

I decided to develop my first sketch into digital format using Adobe Illustrator. Ms Jinchi gave me advice on making the workplace feel more at home by adding snacks for example so I decided to try it out.

Feedback for the week (Week 10)

Add elements that help represent how you feel/ what sense do you get from this place.

Fig 2.1 - Final

This is the final design of my workplace. I use vibrant colors to represent comfort, happiness and creativity as well as being in a lively space boosts my creativity. Originally, I did not have anything on the wall in my sketch so I added extra details to add more life to the workplace.

Reflections

This project has helped me improve on my Illustrator skills as well as taught me what makes a place have meaning and how it makes you feel. It was tough to figure out the coloring and objects to include to give the desired sense but I am glad I managed to finish it.
